Jyothi Reddy has supported Group Wedding for poor in India in 03 April 2011. Under her guidance ____ free mass marriages were performed as part of efforts to safeguard ancient Hindu culture and traditions and enliven the poor.
Addressing an awareness meet with public representatives on this occasion she said patronage for Vedas, that preached oneness of human beings and spread immense knowledge, was on the downtrend due to onslaught of foreign culture and globalisation.
She further pointed that joyful marriage was becoming burdensome to the poor on accounts of expenses involved and debts.
Hence, she helped to perform marriages of poor. As part this program, she also distributed a set of useful utensils, household items, clothes, etc. for each married couple.
